Who is Liz Truss and what has she done?

Liz Truss is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for South West Norfolk since 2010. She is a member of the Conservative Party and has held a number of cabinet positions, including Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor (2016-2017), Chief Secretary to the Treasury (2017-2019), Secretary of State for International Trade (2019-2021), and Foreign Secretary (2021-2022).

Truss was born in Oxford in 1975 and studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Merton College, Oxford. After graduating, she worked as an accountant and management consultant before entering politics. She was elected to Parliament in 2010 and quickly rose through the ranks of the Conservative Party.

Truss is a self-described "fiscal conservative" and is known for her support for free markets and low taxes. She is also a strong supporter of Brexit and has been a vocal critic of the European Union.

As Foreign Secretary, Truss has taken a hawkish stance on Russia and China. She has also been a strong supporter of Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Truss is a controversial figure, but she is also a rising star in the Conservative Party. She is seen as a potential future leader of the party and could one day become the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
